Behind the platform: how Mambuvians drive meaningful change
Insights by Nadine Fève, Sangavi Sakthivel and Evan Chan
There’s an energy you can’t miss when you’re around Mambuvians. It’s a sense of purpose of building something bigger than any other platform or product. A shared belief in transforming financial services for the better.
But what does it mean to build purpose-driven technology in an industry as complex as finance? And what can we all learn from the people on the front lines?
Our platform powers many of the world’s leading financial institutions. But who are the people behind the platform? To find out, we sat down with three Mambuvians – Eva Chan, Senior Sustainability & Resilience Operations Manager, Sangavi Sakthivel, Engineering Manager, and Nadine Fève, Director, Internal Communications – to explore what drives them, why the work they do matters, and how their insights might offer energizing perspectives on the future of tech and the workplace.
Making a real impact, behind the scenes
For many, the world of financial technology can feel opaque, a 'black box' of code and complexity, yet this technology is everywhere. Throughout your day, you might unknowingly interact with our Deposits, Lending, Payments or Islamic Banking products more often than you realise. Sitting at the heart of the financial world is where real impact happens.
"What excites me most is the impact we have behind the scenes.” said Eva, “We’re powering banks and financial institutions to serve millions of people. Safely, reliably and more efficiently. Because finance touches everything, embedding responsible, transparent practices into our technology can drive a lot of positive change."
Nadine added "Mambu’s products matter to me because they drive financial inclusion and business growth. I’m proud to work at a company that makes seamless access to financial services possible—whether it’s buying a home, celebrating a child’s birthday, or just making everyday purchases. That kind of impact is deeply human."
For Sangavi, innovation starts with curiosity: "I’ve always been fascinated by how things work. At Mambu, that curiosity translates into building technology that’s not just functional, but genuinely human-centered. We’re solving real problems that make a difference in people’s lives."
It’s clear. At Mambu, it’s not just about building platforms, it’s about building impact. Real people creating real change, far beyond lines of code.
Innovation and inclusion go hand in hand
The journey into tech and finance is not always linear. We asked Eva, Sangavi and Nadine for their perspectives, and their advice is valuable for anyone, at any stage of their career, looking to take a step into the industry.
"Don’t wait until you have it all figured out,” Eva said. “Curiosity and a willingness to learn are much more important than ticking every box. Your background is your strength. Talk to people, explore, and trust that you have something valuable to bring."
Sangavi added: "You don’t need to fit a traditional mould. Engineering isn’t just about maths or science — it’s about creative problem-solving and persistence. Stay curious. Take up space. Trust that you belong."
Nadine shared her thoughts on guiding the next generation: "If you’re 15 to 18 and curious about finance, start by talking to people in the field. Understand the range of roles that exist. Then talk to people in tech—because no matter what path you take, tech is transforming every industry. You’ll need to understand how it’s reshaping your field, whether that’s sales, HR, communications, or finance itself."
This is great advice from our Mambuvians that Mambu proudly stands by, many modern careers are built less on a rigid checklist and more on curiosity, resilience, and the confidence to bring your unique perspective to the table.
A diverse team builds a stronger future
How does an organisation move diversity from a buzzword to a core operational principle? The answer lies in understanding that innovation thrives when different voices and experiences come together.
"Having different perspectives at the table leads to better outcomes," said Nadine. "There’s still work to do—especially in fields like engineering, which have historically lacked balance—but Mambu is taking steps forward. Our Girl’s Day in Tech, where we invite girls aged 12–14 to explore careers in tech, is one example."
Eva agreed: "If the people building the future don’t reflect the world we live in, we risk reinforcing old inequalities. We need better access, more mentorship, and clearer pathways into the industry.
Sangavi added: "Diverse teams spark richer ideas. Different perspectives lead to better, more inclusive solutions. And we need to keep making tech feel welcoming because innovation should never feel out of reach."
It’s this commitment to inclusion that underpins how we build, who we hire and the culture we create. A reminder of the responsibility held by those building the tools that will shape our future society. It's about delivering technology that's not only powerful, but purposeful.
Outcomes that speak for themselves
The impact of our approach is clear. As the originators of composable banking, we’re trusted by over 260 global financial institutions to help them think bigger, move faster and innovate smarter. Our cloud-native, low-code platform cuts time to market by up to 80% and reduces operational costs by up to 70% compared to traditional banks.
By combining modular technologies into a scalable, agile architecture, we make it easy for customers to innovate without being tied to legacy systems. Our customers launch new products in 6 to 12 weeks, rather than 100+ weeks. Our API-driven model builds real-time capabilities, automation, and compliance which helps financial institutions stay ahead of customer expectations, not just keep up with them.
The big takeaway here is universal, real innovation happens when passionate people, smart technology and a shared purpose come together. At Mambu, we’re strong believers in this principle, and we’re proving every day that when you empower people within your teams and your customer ecosystems, you make more possible.
