Scaling consumer finance for the digital age
As one of Spain’s leading banking groups, Ibercaja has built a legacy of trust and regional commitment. But with consumers demanding faster, more flexible, and fully digital lending experiences the bank must modernise to stay ahead.
To achieve this, Ibercaja required a flexible, cloud-native platform to modernise its consumer finance offering, accelerate time to market, and scale efficiently—while ensuring seamless integration with its existing infrastructure.


The solution
New personal lending platform powered by Mambu
As part of its strategic goal to modernise consumer finance, Ibercaja partnered with Mambu to build and launch a dedicated digital personal lending spin-off—Presto—designed to boost financing at the point of sale.
Built on Mambu’s composable, API-first platform and underpinned by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the new application allows both customers and non-customers of the bank to arrange consumer loans directly in commercial establishments, allowing the process to be carried out entirely digitally. The phased rollout, launched in July 2025 by Ibercaja Financing Services, began in vehicle dealerships and is set to expand to other use cases and functionalities over the upcoming year.
The result
Launching with speed, scaling for the future
The development of Presto was completed in just eight months, marking the first step in Ibercaja’s phased transition to Mambu. This launch is part of Ibercaja's efforts to enhance its value proposition to retail and commercial companies—a key objective of the bank’s "Now Ibercaja" strategic plan.
With Presto now live, Ibercaja is well positioned to scale its digital lending offering and pursue its goal of reaching 200,000 new customers within five years. By leveraging Mambu’s composable, API-first architecture, Ibercaja plans to transition its entire consumer finance operations to the cloud through a staggered approach over the coming years.
